The Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics (IPPG) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) is organizing an information day on the topic: "New Genomic Techniques – Opportunities and Challenges for Researchers and Agricultural Producers".
The event will take place on 16 February at 10:00 a.m. in the conference hall of IPPG – BAS, 21 „Acad. Georgi Bonchev“ Str., 2nd floor.
The information day will focus on presenting innovations and achievements in genome editing of organisms, as well as on the challenges posed by climate change faced by scientists and agricultural producers.
The lecturers will discuss the latest trends and scientific developments in the field of genomic technologies affecting agriculture and medicine, placing emphasis on specific results and issues. In addition, ethical and legal questions will be examined, as well as the regulatory framework related to the application of new genomic techniques.
