The Swiss National Science Foundation is extending the application deadline for PROMYS until 29 February 2024. The range of eligible applicants has also been expanded, and now young researchers who are between 2 and 7 years after the defence of their doctoral thesis may also apply.
The “PROMYS” component is aimed at young researchers who have studied or worked in the EU or in Switzerland for at least one year as doctoral students or postdoctoral researchers and would like to continue their scientific careers in Bulgaria.
Grant applications must be submitted by a single applicant and must be supported by the host institution in Bulgaria. These may be any higher education institution or research organization that is legally and geographically located in Bulgaria and is accredited by the NEAA to train doctoral students, as well as having proven experience in high-level international research.
Promoting young scientists in Central and Eastern Europe
The host institution must provide a letter of support for the applicant, as well as appropriate conditions for the young scientist to independently lead their research and manage its funding until the end of the project.
