The Institute of Agriculture in Kyustendil will hold the first demonstration under the project “Good Practices for Sustainable and Environmentally Friendly Fruit Growing” under Sub-measure 1.2 “Demonstration Activities and Information Actions” of the Rural Development Programme for the period 2014-2020. The demonstration for farmers will take place in the experimental fields of the Institute on 15 March 2024.

During the demonstration, farmers will be introduced to: Optimised systems for integrated plant protection in sour cherry and apple; Good practices for storage, preparation of working solutions and application of plant protection products; Innovative methods for combating late spring frosts and pruning to improve the economic results from the cultivation of cherries, plums and apples.

Those wishing to attend the demonstration must be registered agricultural or forestry producers, as well as employees in their holdings. A participation form (Annex No 3 to the Implementation Conditions) must be completed in advance at IA – Kyustendil. It is necessary to present the available „Unique Identification Number of the Farmer“.
