For the eighth consecutive year, the Agricultural University – Plovdiv wins first place with the degree programmes “Crop Science” and “Plant Protection”

At an official ceremony held on 12.01.2024, the Academic Oscars were presented, distinguishing Bulgarian universities according to their place in the Rating System of Higher Education Institutions in Bulgaria. For the eighth consecutive year, the Agricultural University – Plovdiv was awarded first place for the degree programmes “Crop Science” and “Plant Protection”.

Irena Tsakova, Director “Permitting and Legal Activities” at “Dundee Precious Metals”, presented the prestigious award to Prof. Hristina Yancheva, Rector of the Agricultural University – Plovdiv. She wished success to the agricultural university and to all those involved in the educational process of the young generation.

“It is an honour for me, for the eighth consecutive year, to receive this award. We are the first green university in Europe,” said Prof. Hristina Yancheva, Rector of the Agricultural University – Plovdiv.

The Rating System is prepared on behalf of the Ministry of Education and Science, and the award ceremony is organised by the newspaper “24 Chasa”. Partners of the event are the companies Minstroy Holding, Kaufland Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding, Geotrading, Cleantech Bulgaria, A1, Telelink Business Services, Trace, Dundee Precious Metals, UniCredit Bulbank.

The ranking compares 51 higher education institutions within 52 professional fields according to 47 indicators.

This event brings together the academic elite and the business community and establishes the link between universities and the economy, the labour market, by signalling the need for qualified specialists in all educational fields.

There is no doubt that the success of Bulgarian science and business is built solely on high-quality and modern higher education.
