AGRI SUMMIT & AWARDS 2024 “Seeds of Success” provides for an extensive forum section with presentations, lectures, discussion panels and analyses by leading innovators in the “Agriculture” sector.
The winners will be awarded at an official ceremony during AGRI SUMMIT & AWARDS 2024 “Seeds of Success”. The AGRI AWARDS 2024 aim to distinguish the contribution of agricultural producers in Bulgaria.
The Bulgarian scientific community has an important role and contribution to the development of vegetable production. Science creates varieties and technologies and supports agricultural producers with services and consultancy.
Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute – Plovdiv, within the Agricultural Academy, as a leader in the categories “Gardener for 2024” and “Innovator for 2024”.
The research institute has 1830 decares of arable land, where Bulgarian varieties of vegetable crops and potatoes are developed, maintained, produced and sold. The entire cycle is closed, from the creation of a variety to its provision to vegetable producers. Each variety is accompanied by a technology created and adapted exclusively for it. Old, local varieties are maintained.

The developed vegetable crop varieties are recognizable and the quantities of seeds produced every year are successfully marketed. Interest in Bulgarian vegetable varieties increases with each passing year not only in Bulgaria, but also in neighboring countries such as Romania, North Macedonia, Serbia and others. Our varieties are also successfully sold in Nigeria.
The Institute has also been nominated in the category “Innovator for 2024”, because it applies digital and innovative solutions and services in its farm, thereby increasing its efficiency and profitability.
