Week of the Bioeconomy at the Agricultural University in Plovdiv

For the first time, a Bioeconomy Week will be held at the Agricultural University – Plovdiv. From 9 to 13 October a number of events and workshops on bioeconomy and sustainable agri-food systems will take place.

Working sessions and training modules will be held for lecturers and students on research projects in the field of bioeconomy, in which the Agricultural University – Plovdiv is a partner, together with trainers from the universities in Wageningen – the Netherlands, Bologna – Italy and Dublin – Ireland.

 

PROGRAMME

9 October, Conference Hall, Rectorate

9:30 – Official opening of the Bioeconomy Week. Brief presentation by the Vice-Rector for Research and Project Activities Prof. Dr. Vladislav Popov on the international research and educational projects in which the Agricultural University is involved.

10:00 – Ceremony for the establishment of the first Bioeconomy Hub in Bulgaria – "Regional Bioeconomy Hub – Plovdiv"

9 October, Auditorium 5, Faculty of Viticulture and Horticulture

10:45 – Presentation of the first "green" European university alliance UNIgreen and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology EIT Food – Prof. Dr. Vladislav Popov

10 October, New Hall, Faculty of Viticulture and Horticulture – parking area

9:30 – Official opening of the Centre for Innovative Educational Technologies

12 October, Auditorium 5, Faculty of Viticulture and Horticulture – parking area

9:30 – Final conference on the CAPBIO4BG project – enhancing the research and innovation capacity of the Agricultural University – Plovdiv in the field of bioeconomy – Prof. Dr. Vladislav Popov

12 October, Training and Experimental Base and Winery, Brestnik village

13:30 – Technologies in Viticulture – Investment in the Future – official opening of the “Science” Demo Point of the EDIH AgroHub.BG

13 October, Aula, Rectorate

9:00 – Opening event of the programme "Regional Innovation Valleys for Bioeconomy and Food Systems" of the European Commission – confirmed participation of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Acad. Nikolay Denkov, and the Minister of Innovation and Growth, Milena Stoycheva.
