Open Day at the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute

Open Day at the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute will be held under the motto “The scientific approach in agriculture – in support of the producer!“

On 14 June, the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute will traditionally open its doors wide to farmers, business partners and scientists from across the country, united by the idea of supporting the production and market realization of seeds from Bulgarian varieties of field crops – a guarantee of security in domestic agriculture.

Guests will have the opportunity to see in the field the varieties from which DAI will offer seeds for the autumn sowing campaign in 2023.

Breeding field of the Dobrudzha Institute

This year, more than 40 cereal crop varieties will be presented, including, in addition to the already well-known varieties, varieties from the newest breeding of the institute – common wheat Shibil, Kasidi, Boil, Rocky 3, Rocky 4, Chudomira, Indzhe, Andronia, Yulita, Fedora and Radoslava; triticale Avitohol, Hokey, Helion 1, Teran, Andronik, Rumeliets and Galadriel; malting barley Onyx, Brilliant and Heliodor; feed barley Fanagoria, Larimar, Citrine and Scepter.

Four varieties of field beans and four sunflower hybrids will also be presented. All these varieties and hybrids are bred by the Dobrudzha Agricultural Institute.

Participants will also become acquainted with agricultural crops grown under organic production conditions – soybean, bean, rye and einkorn wheat. Specialists from DAI will provide information on the main advantages and the cultivation technology of the offered varieties.

After viewing the crops, the programme envisages a discussion on current topics related to the introduction into production of innovative products of DAI, business contacts and an outdoor festive cocktail for all attendees.
