List of approved products for organic fertilization under Eco-scheme 3

On 29.05.2023, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency published on its website a list of authorised organic fertilizers applicable under Eco-scheme 3 – for preservation and restoration of soil potential – promotion of green manuring and organic fertilization (Eco-PRSP).

Excerpt of the registered organic fertilizers, organic soil improvers, microbial fertilizers and plant biostimulants (biologically active substances)

The list indicates the names, certificate holders, composition and application of the various organic fertilizers, organic soil improvers, microbial fertilizers and biologically active substances.

The published list does not include all products that may be used by farmers who have decided to implement the eco-scheme. At present, the list covers only registered Bulgarian products. The ordinance stipulates that European products may be used on the basis of a registration certificate, plus a label indicating the content.

Eco-scheme for preservation and restoration of soil potential

In this Eco-scheme it is stipulated that 15 days after the end of the deadline for the mapping campaign – 30 June, the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency (BFSA) prepares an excerpt from the list of registered Bulgarian products for organic fertilization and submits it to the State Fund “Agriculture”.

The BFSA is obliged to provide the SFA by 31 October of the year of application with an up-to-date excerpt of the organic soil improvers, organic fertilizers, microbial fertilizers and plant biostimulants authorised for placing on the market and use, produced and registered in Bulgaria. When they are not produced or registered in Bulgaria, information from the content of the certificate or the label is used.
