In the 4–6 leaf stage, maize sets its generative organs and forms the potential for future yield. Maintaining a weed-free field is of particular importance so that the crop can make full use of the nutrients and water in the soil and fully develop its potential for high and quality yield.

For this reason, timely treatment with post-emergence herbicides is recommended.

Corteva Аgriscience™ offers the already proven product on the market Principal® Plus.

Principal® Plus controls all economically important grass and broadleaf weeds in maize and is distinguished by numerous advantages thanks to the excellent interaction of the three active substances in its composition.

By choosing Principal® Plus, the farmer receives a solution for the control of a broad spectrum of weeds, excellent selectivity to the crop, strong systemic action, rapid initial effect, no need for an additional herbicide partner, convenient and easy to use, and with no restrictions for subsequent crops in the crop rotation. In addition, it is an excellent alternative to soil-applied herbicides or in cases of lack of effect from them due to soil drought immediately after their application.

Principal® Plus is applied from the 2nd to the 6th leaf stage of the crop at a rate of 44 g/da with 0.1% adjuvant VivoLt™ 90. VivoLt™ 90 improves contact with the leaf surface, reduces surface tension, which is particularly important under unfavorable weather conditions (drought, cool weather), as well as for weeds whose leaves are difficult to wet due to a waxy coating or hairs. Actively growing weeds are sensitive to the product, especially in the early stages of their development, but in numerous long-term trials and applications on a large number of farms during the past year, we have been convinced that Principal® Plus also controls well weeds in a more advanced stage of their development.

After treatment, Principal® Plus quickly penetrates through the leaves and roots of the problem weeds and moves to all parts of the plant. A visual effect is observed as early as the second–third day. This is expressed in yellowing of the growth zones in broadleaf weeds and anthocyanin coloration in grass weeds. The weeds die completely two to three weeks after treatment and during this time are not competitors to the crop in terms of moisture, light, and nutrients.

Principal® Plus is the herbicide that protects fields from weeds that others can hardly control, and it does so with only one treatment, thereby saving time and resources.

These positive characteristics of Principal™ Plus have been proven over the years, and you, the farmers, have named it “The Mower” due to its impeccable performance even under heavy infestation with a broad spectrum of weeds.
