Protect the plants – protect life

On 16 January we observe Plant Protection Specialist Day and celebrate 127 years of plant protection activities in Bulgaria!

This year, the motto of the celebration is “Protect the plant – protect life”, and the host of the event is once again the Agricultural University in Plovdiv.

One hundred and twenty-seven years ago, in the vineyards, the documented history of modern plant protection began. A single disease and thousands of decares of destroyed vineyards transformed the disaster into a scientific field which today is fundamental for the existence of agriculture as a sector.

To all who have dedicated themselves to caring for plants, who spend their days in the field or in laboratories, who create life, we wish health and prosperity.
