In the period 18-21 September 2023, the Eighteenth Meeting on Genetics and Breeding of Pepper and Eggplant will be held in Plovdiv https://cmebg.com/en/sabitia/eucarpia2023/.

Under the auspices of EUCARPIA, the conference is organized by the Maritsa Vegetable Crops Research Institute in partnership with the Center of Plant Systems Biology and Biotechnology. For more effective communication and exchange of new knowledge and new ideas acquired after the last meeting in 2019 in Avignon, France, the event will be held entirely in person. The Eighteenth Meeting on Genetics and Breeding of Pepper and Eggplant will offer a rich scientific programme, inspiring lectures, and numerous opportunities for cooperation and social interaction.

The region of Plovdiv and the Thracian Plain are known for their traditions in pepper cultivation and the diversity of local accessions. “As heirs, it is our duty to preserve this diversity, to enrich it, improve it and pass it on to future generations. Since our actions today determine our future, we have chosen HERITAGE as the motto of the Eighteenth Meeting on Genetics and Breeding of Pepper and Eggplant”, the organizers share.
