Open Day on Peanuts and Sesame

The traditional tour of the peanut production areas in Sadovo will take place on 14 September 2022.

Unlike previous years, however, the initiative will be held under the name “Open Day on Peanuts and Sesame”.

The meeting point is the production facility of Semenarska Kashta – Sadovo Ltd., in the farmyard of the village of Cheshnegirovo. The start will be at 9:30 a.m. A visit is planned to a seed production sesame field and presentation of the variety “Aida” with its cultivation technology.

This will be followed by a visit to a seed production peanut field of the varieties “Lotos”, “Kanna” and “Granat”, with a demonstration of peanut harvesting machinery and the opening of a production line for peanut seed preparation.

In the experimental field of the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources – (IPGR) Sadovo of the Agricultural Academy, the sesame variety Nevena will be presented, and for peanuts the newest variety Aida, which is in a trial period at IASAS, as well as the varieties Kalina, Kremena and Tsvetelina, which are popular in the country.
