Yield establishment is of exceptional importance during the autumn-winter period for the development of wheat. This depends on numerous factors, one of the most significant being keeping the wheat free from weeds, the Bayer team shares. This allows it to develop without competition from grass and broadleaf weeds and to tiller optimally already in the autumn.

Mateno® Forte is a soil-applied herbicide in wheat and is Bayer’s new effective solution for weed control.

With Mateno® Forte, farmers obtain: a broad and comprehensive spectrum of control of grass and broadleaf weeds in wheat in the autumn; control of volunteer Clearfield® / IMI-tolerant oilseed rape, as well as grass weeds resistant to certain post-emergence herbicides; a weed-free field, which enables the crop to establish its yield potential in good time. The product contains a strong combination of three active substances. Aclonifen has a new mode of action for the control of grass and broadleaf weeds. Flufenacet is effective against grass weeds emerging in the autumn. Diflufenican is effective against broadleaf weeds emerging in the autumn. Mateno® Forte has a flexible application timing: pre-emergence and early post-emergence.
