The Minister of Agriculture and Food, Desislava Taneva, launched the 2015 direct payments campaign and opened two agricultural-themed exhibitions in one day.
On March 4, Wednesday, the International Agricultural Fair AGRA was opened in Plovdiv. It is traditionally held in partnership with the Agricultural Academy at the Ministry of Agriculture and Food and is the largest agribusiness forum in Southeastern Europe. The 24th edition of the event is held from March 4 to March 8, 2015. Within the fair, four independent exhibitions are held in parallel, each with its own focus in agriculture: AGRA - International Agricultural Fair, BioAGRA - specialized exhibition for organic crop and livestock farming, Api Bulgaria - international beekeeping exhibition, and Vinaria - international exhibition for viticulture and winemaking.
A competition for innovations in the field of agriculture will be held, as well as a presentation of the achievements of Bulgarian livestock farming. "In one place, we can see food, equipment, agricultural inventory, wine, tourism, and everything related to the agricultural sector, which is of direct assistance to farmers. The sectors of the agricultural industry are inextricably linked to the expectations of the entire society for economic growth and increased income," Minister Taneva stated.

A little later, at 1 PM, the first spring edition of the BATA AGRO'2015 exhibition was also opened. It is held from March 4 to March 7 at the airport in the city of Stara Zagora. Around 100 companies will present products and services on more than 23,000 square meters of exhibition space. Visitors to the forum will have the opportunity to see the most modern, newest, and innovative from the world of agro-industry. Great interest was also sparked by an information seminar on the topic: "Opportunities for financing investments under the RDP 2014-2020 and news regarding direct payments." It was attended by experts from the Bulgarian Association of Consultants on European Programs and experts from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Issues relevant at the time of the launch of the RDP 2014-2020 were discussed.
