Efficient Nitrogen Uptake in Rapeseed

The new price situation regarding fertilizers poses new challenges for many of you — in particular nitrogen, which is an important production factor for increasing rapeseed yields.

By selecting new hybrids under reduced nitrogen fertilization (up to 30% less mineral nitrogen), Bayer’s plant breeding specialists managed to select hybrids that exhibit greater resilience and higher performance compared to other hybrids under reduced fertilization.

Through a series of experiments, it has been established which hybrids perform well under optimal conditions and achieve the lowest yield losses under reduced mineral fertilization. The use of DEKALB® hybrids that utilize nitrogen optimally helps to realize the yield potential even under limited nitrogen availability.

In addition to DK Exclaim, the new rapeseed hybrids DK Excited and DK Expectation are also particularly nitrogen-efficient. In view of the dynamic fertilizer prices, the hybrid is an important building block for the successful cultivation of rapeseed.
