In the fruit orchard of Bulgaria – Kyustendil, days dedicated to the famous Kyustendil cherry are held every year at the end of June.

This year, Kyustendil Municipality and the Institute of Agriculture – Kyustendil will be welcoming enthusiasts of the delicious fruit on 24, 25 and 26 June in the town, so that together they may immerse themselves in the traditions and fertility of the Kyustendil region.

The exhibition of the fruits of orchard labor began its history in the town of Kyustendil in 1896, when the First National Pomology Exhibition was established and the town received the title “Mother of Bulgarian Fruit Growing”.

Every year, the Municipality’s partner is the Institute of Agriculture – Kyustendil, which presents the diversity and innovations in cherry production in our country.

The highlight of the festival is the exhibition and market of cherries and cherry products, where display tables are arranged with this bright and tasty fruit. Masterfully woven “veshala” are also crafted. A market of Kyustendil cherries is held, with the participation of local agricultural producers, and traders and artisans from all over the country present their products.

The programme of cultural events and open-air stages further contributes to the good mood of the festival’s guests.

Come to Kyustendil to experience the unique joy of the sweetness and beauty of the cherry fruit!
