Agrotechnical and plant protection practices in plum orchards

On 11 May 2022 at 11:30 a.m. in the village of Ralevo, Pleven Municipality, in the plum orchard of the agricultural producer Genadi Yordanov, a seminar will be held on the topic: „Agrotechnical and plant protection practices in a plum orchard“.

At the information and training seminar, organized by the National Agricultural Advisory Service (Territorial District Office /TDO/ - Pleven) and the Agricultural Academy (Institute of Agriculture - Kyustendil), the participants will be acquainted with the main agrotechnical practices in spring in a plum orchard. Assoc. Prof. Dimitar Sotirov, PhD, from the Institute of Agriculture – Kyustendil will discuss with the farmers issues related to the different methods of maintaining the soil surface in the orchard, the possibilities for green manuring, etc. The farmers will also be informed about the plant protection activities aimed at controlling diseases,  pests and weeds in plums.

In the second part of the seminar, the attendees will be informed about the conditions for support of young farmers under Sub-measure 6.1 „Start-up aid for young farmers“ of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020.
