Modern Methods in Pruning Stone Fruit Orchards

On 9 March (Wednesday) 2022, at 10:15 a.m., an information and training seminar with a demonstration on the topic: „Modern methods for pruning stone fruit orchards. Demonstration of a contour pruning machine“ will be held in the orchard of the agricultural producer Samet Mehmed.

During the seminar, the participants will become acquainted with the specifics of pruning stone fruit species – plums and apricots, for crown formation of young trees, pruning of fruit-bearing orchards, as well as rejuvenating pruning of old orchards with an expired amortization period. On-site in the orchard, a demonstration of a precision contour pruning machine will be carried out.

During the event, farmers cultivating permanent crops will also be informed about the opportunities for support to agricultural holdings under sub-measures 6.1 „Start-up aid for young farmers“ and 6.3 „Start-up aid for the development of small farms“ of the Rural Development Programme (RDP) 2014-2020.

Venue: theoretical part and demonstration in the orchard of the agricultural producer Samet Mehmed – village of Vokil, Dulovo Municipality, Silistra District. For the convenience of the participants – meeting in front of the mayor’s office of the village of Vokil at 10:00 a.m.
