Condition of wheat crops in the Sadovo region

At the present moment (16.02.2022), the phytosanitary condition of the wheat crops in the Sadovo region can be defined as good. The tillering stage is proceeding under normal conditions with sufficient soil moisture supply for the plants. No yellowing of wheat crops is observed due to undernourishment and the lack of snow cover in January. No damage from winterkill and low temperatures has been recorded. No infestations by phytopathogens have been reported.

With the increase in average daily temperatures, the occurrence and spread of the diseases septoria leaf blotch, powdery mildew and brown rust are expected. The aforementioned pathogens are encountered annually in the wheat crops in Sadovo and should be given special attention in order to obtain optimal yields. The occurrence and spread of yellow rust are also possible. Until recently, this disease was completely absent in the region, but in recent years its significance has been increasing and it can be observed ever more frequently.

Spring fertilization of the crop is forthcoming.
