Fungicide by Corteva Agriscience™  – Univoq® with a new active substance Inatreq™ active will be on the market in 2022.

Univoq®, already approved for sale and use in Bulgaria, is a new fungicide that provides exceptional preventive, stopping and curative action against all economically important diseases in cereal crops.

Univoq® offers a new patented iQ-4 technology for better adhesion and penetration into the plant tissues of the crop and for longer-lasting protection against pathogens.

How is Univoq® different from the fungicides currently used on the market for cereals?

First of all, this is the Inatreq™ it contains. Inatreq™ active is a new active substance from a new chemical group and with a new mode of action against a broad spectrum of diseases, with its most significant advantage being that it is the new benchmark against Septoria species and a tool for managing resistance to this pathogen. The other active substance, prothioconazole in Univoq®, in turn is one of the newest triazoles, with systemic, eradicative and protective action aimed at controlling diseases in cereals, including rust species and Fusarium. These qualities of the active substances in Univoq® complement each other in the so-called synergistic effect, which provides farmers with a new tool for controlling all diseases in cereal crops, while not showing cross-resistance to existing plant protection products.

Univoq® will be offered for the control of the most important diseases in wheat, rye and triticale for T1, T2 and T3. Corteva Agriscience™ will be the first company to register a product of this class simultaneously across Europe, and Bulgarian farmers will be able to benefit from this innovation in crop protection at the same time as their colleagues in other European countries.

Veselin Petkov, Sales Manager Bulgaria at Corteva Agriscience, stated that “The main advantage of Univoq® will be the control of economically important diseases in cereal crops at a stage when the infection pressure is high and competing products cannot cope.“

Ivan Dvazhev, Marketing Manager Balkans at Corteva Agriscience, added:

Univoq® provides excellent duration of protection, which is sufficient to protect the crops even at the highest infection pressure, combined with a physiological effect expressed in stimulating photosynthesis, blocking the ethylene hormone which is formed in the crop under stress conditions, stimulating root formation and, on this basis, helping the crop to realise its maximum yield potential and high grain quality parameters. Trials in Europe and Bulgaria have shown excellent control of powdery mildew, yellow-brown leaf spot, Fusarium, eyespot, brown rust, yellow rust, snow mould, early leaf blight and Septoria. Univoq® will be applied at a flexible dose depending on the timing of application, as follows: T1 – 120 ml/da; T2 – 130 ml/da and T3 for protection against Fusarium at a dose of 130 to 150 ml/da.’’
