New, New, New!!! Yes, as every year, in 2022 Corteva agriscience™ will implement innovations by expanding its portfolio with new products.

Once again, the Corteva portfolio provides fungicides and herbicides that build on existing solutions with their qualities and advantages.

In 2022 Bulgarian farmers will be able to use two new fungicides in cereal crops, which will add value in the control of economically important diseases.

What are these fungicides and how will they differ from those currently on the market?

Inovor®*  - The next level of disease protection

Inovor®* contains two active substances  - pyraclostrobin and fluxapyroxad. This fungicidal combination, through its preventive action, protects against the penetration of pathogens into plant tissues; through its stopping action, it destroys already developed spores; through its curative action, it blocks the development of fungal pathogens and stops the growth of hyphae that have already penetrated the plant tissues.

Inovor®* has long-lasting preventive and curative activity, a powerful physiological effect and binds firmly to the treated surface.

Inovor®* provides impeccable control of Septoria species, brown rust, net blotch, leaf blight, Drechslera, powdery mildew, with a recommended application rate of  -  T1 – 75 ml/da and T2 – 90 ml/da. Inovor®* is most suitably applied preventively in the first fungicide treatment T1 in cereal crops, providing a long period of crop protection against all economically important diseases, and at a good price. In addition, the additional physiological effect that Inovor®* possesses helps the crop to cope with abiotic stress, which, in a dry spring and large temperature amplitudes, burdens the crop in critical phases when the generative organs are formed and the future yield is determined.

Univoq® - Out-of-this-world protection

Univoq® is a fungicide that has exceptional preventive, stopping and curative activity against all economically important diseases in cereal crops. It is a two-component fungicide containing prothioconazole, which is one of the newest triazoles, with systemic, eradicative and preventive action, targeted at the control of diseases in cereals, including rust species, leaf spots and Fusarium, and the completely new active substance Inatreq™ active from a new chemical group and with a new mode of action against a broad spectrum of diseases, whose most significant advantage is that it is the new benchmark against Septoria species and a tool in the fight against resistance in this pathogen. The active ingredients in Univoq® complement each other in a so-called synergistic effect, which gives farmers a new tool for the control of all diseases in cereal crops.

After treatment, Univoq® penetrates the leaf tissue and remains in active form for more than 30 days; upon contact with the pathogen, it activates its fungicidal action (curative action).

Deposits after treatment on plant parts act as a reservoir for Univoq®, becoming activated upon contact with germinating spores (preventive action).

In the presence of germinated spores, Univoq® penetrates the tissues and acts as an inhibitor of mitochondrial respiration in fungal cells; by blocking electron transfer, growth is inhibited and the fungi die (stopping action).

Univoq® provides excellent duration of protection, sufficient to protect crops even under the highest infection pressure, combined with a physiological effect expressed in stimulation of photosynthesis, blocking of the hormone ethylene, which is formed in the crop under stress conditions, and stimulation of root formation; based on all this, it helps the crop to realize its maximum yield potential and achieve high grain quality parameters. Trials in Europe and Bulgaria have shown excellent control of powdery mildew, Fusarium, foot rot, brown rust, yellow rust, snow mould, early leaf blight and Septoria. Univoq® is applied at a flexible rate depending on the timing of application, as follows: T1 – 120 ml/da; T2 – 130 ml/da and T3 for protection against Fusarium at a rate of 130 to 150 ml/da.

To extract the maximum benefits provided by Univoq®, it is most appropriate to apply it in the T2 fungicide treatment, especially under high infection pressure from Septoria and rust species. In case of high risk of Fusarium on the ear, Univoq® also provides impeccable control of the disease when applied at T3 during flowering.

For the 2022 season, Inovor®* and Univoq® will be offered in a package application with the proven herbicide  Derby® Super One. This package will combine the classic solution in the control of broadleaf weeds with innovations in fungicides, and at a better price.
