After more than 20 years, Corteva agriscience™ presents to you – a new herbicide, with a new active substance and a new mode of action in cereal crops

After nearly 20 years, there is now a truly new solution for broadleaf weed control in the most widely grown crop in Bulgaria. For many years, the market has been dominated by, and mainly used, herbicides for broadleaf weed control based on active substances from the sulfonylurea group. This has inevitably led to the development of resistance to these herbicides, which belong to one chemical group and have the same mode of action.

But this problem is already in the past for the 2022 season, because you, the Bulgarian farmers, will have at your disposal Quelex® .

Corteva Quelex

Quelex® is a new stage in weed control, as it will control all weeds, including those resistant to sulfonylurea and hormone-like herbicides, due to the content of Arylex™ ActiveArylex™ Active is a new active substance, from a new chemical group and with a different mode of action against a wide spectrum of weeds, with its most significant advantage being that it is the first new active substance developed after more than 20 years. The other active substance, florasulam, in Quelex® has proven excellent efficacy against a wide range of broadleaf weeds. These properties of the active substances in Quelex®  complement each other in the so-called synergistic effect, which provides you with a new tool and a new standard for broadleaf weed control in cereal crops, and in particular benchmark efficacy against persistent or resistant weeds such as Corn poppy, Henbit deadnettle and Larkspur.

Quelex will stand out among its competitors with its exceptional application flexibility from the 1st leaf to the flag leaf, an extremely wide temperature range from +2°C to 27°C, and a rapid and excellent effect even under large temperature amplitudes. Quelex also contains a built-in safener, which guarantees 100% selectivity to the crop. After the application of Quelex there are no restrictions for the following crops in the crop rotation in the autumn and in the spring of the following year.

Quelex® can be applied both in the autumn and in the spring, with a recommendation for treatment at a dose of 5 g/da both in autumn and in spring. In the case of overgrown weeds and high density of ephemeral weeds and creeping thistle, the adjuvant Vivolt™ should be added.
