This is a question that at first glance seems easy, but in fact, for the correct decision serious attention and assessment of what we actually want to achieve are required.
In a warm autumn and with normal soil moisture, weeds in wheat and barley start quickly and enter into competition with the crop in the field. It has been proven that in autumn wheat and barley form 30% of their yield potential. Therefore, it is very important that the crop is freed from weeds during this period.
The problem arises from which herbicide to choose depending on the existing weeds, to take into account the crop growth stage, the climatic conditions and, ultimately, to achieve 100% efficacy against weeds and selectivity for the crop.
These are our proposals, which have been tested in practice and are proven to be effective and selective.
Sunflower cultivation ranks second in Bulgaria in terms of arable land, with an area of 7.5 million decares, and technological sunflower accounts for 95% of these areas, and the usual crop that follows in the crop rotation is wheat or barley. After a technological sunflower predecessor, the occurrence of volunteer plants in autumn is a widespread phenomenon and they compete with the crop.
To control technological volunteer sunflower, the solution is - Derby® Super One.
Derby® Super One / Lancelot® is a cost-effective herbicide that effectively controls important broadleaf weeds in wheat and barley.
It stops the growth and development of susceptible weeds within one day after treatment.
Low temperatures down to 5°C and temperature fluctuations do not affect its activity, which is an advantage under variable autumn temperatures.
Another advantage of Derby® Super One / Lancelot® is that it also has soil activity, which allows further protection for 2–3 weeks against secondary emerging broadleaf weeds.
It is selective to the crop when applied after the second leaf stage, effective against technological volunteer sunflower and oilseed rape and all other winter–spring weeds that appear in autumn and compete with the crop.
Oilseed rape, which occupies an area of 1.4 million decares, is to a large extent grown under technological systems. In autumn, volunteers from technological oilseed rape create serious problems for the development of wheat and barley, and therefore it is very important that control is carried out at early growth stages.
These factors allow Mustang to be the benchmark for the most appropriate solution for controlling technological volunteer oilseed rape, even at an advanced growth stage.
Mustang® is a selective systemic herbicide for the control of broadleaf weeds in wheat and barley, including persistent species.
The product contains two active substances that block weed growth and lead to its destruction.
When applying it, the cereal crops must have entered the tillering stage.
In the case of mixed weed infestation in autumn in the sown wheat areas, the solution is
It is the broadest-spectrum herbicide for the control of grass and broadleaf weeds. Corello® provides impeccable control of all economically important weeds in wheat, triticale and rye.
Within a few hours after application, weed development stops, and after a few days visual symptoms of effectiveness appear. Complete weed death may take from 1 to 3 weeks.
It is not affected by low temperatures and high fluctuations, is selective to the crop when applied after the second leaf stage, and is effective against volunteer sunflower and oilseed rape.
Corello® Duo is the standard for the control of Rough-stalked meadow-grass and Wild oats.
