Bulgaria holds strong positions in sunflower production among the EU countries, and every domestic producer faces the challenge of how to increase the quantity and quality of the yield while at the same time preserving soil fertility.

The answer is one – the use of the uniquely formulated biostimulant AMALGEROL ESSENCE, which acts simultaneously in three directions: soil, roots and plant.

4. AMALGEROL ESSENCE in high-oleic sunflower hybrids

On the basis of many years of trials conducted in Bulgarian institutes and the experience of agricultural producers who have placed their trust in AMALGEROL ESSENCE, we observe the following results in sunflower:

• The level of oil content under standard technology is 42-45%.
• When applying standard technology combined with the use of AMALGEROL ESSENCE, the oil content increases to 46-48%.

* The value of the obtained results also depends on the built-in potential of the hybrid.

We are increasingly witnessing a trend whereby sunflower traders provide an additional premium for high oil content, and produce with higher oil content is purchased at a higher price. We first observed this fact among exporting companies, and now Bulgarian oil mills are following their example.

There are special hybrids on the market – high-oleic sunflower hybrids, which are required to have a minimum oleic acid content of 80%. Practice shows that high-oleic hybrids treated under standard technology in combination with AMALGEROL ESSENCE have an oleic acid content of 88-90% and are purchased at a higher price.

Regarding sunflower yield after the use of AMALGEROL ESSENCE, we record an increase depending on whether the plants have been treated once or twice. Application: first treatment at the 2-4 pairs of leaves stage; second treatment at the beginning of the budding stage before row closure (usually in combination with products for johnsongrass control). The recommended dose is 200 ml/da.

5. AMALGEROL ESSENCE for recovery after hail

The following practical example demonstrates how AMALGEROL ESSENCE indisputably proved its effect in sunflower damaged by hail. The agricultural holding is located in the region of the town of Dimitrovgrad, where a devastating hailstorm almost destroyed the sunflower crops. The farmer’s intention was to plough up the field in question, but following consultation with the sales representative of Medi Plus R, he changed his decision and placed his trust in the product AMALGEROL ESSENCE. The vegetation apex of the plants was alive and the field was treated at a dose of 200 ml/da, as a result of which the plants began to recover. Unfortunately, a week later the field was hit by a second hailstorm, and therefore the agricultural producer applied the biostimulant once again at a dose of 200 ml/da. The plants recovered completely and delivered a good yield.

6. AMALGEROL ESSENCE in cases of local downy mildew damage

Downy mildew in sunflower is a risk factor for the crop, because the condition is difficult to control and causes significant damage to the sown areas. An agricultural producer from the Nova Zagora region opted for an Express-tolerant variety, which is susceptible to downy mildew. The disease was observed on the lower levels of the plants. Through rapid intervention and treatment solely with AMALGEROL ESSENCE at a dose of 200 ml/da after the 3rd pair of true leaves, the downy mildew spores were calcined.
After 10 days a visible effect was observed on the sunflower: the plants had overcome the downy mildew, there was normal growth and development, the leaves were clean with a good green colour and a bud was forming. The farmer was extremely impressed by the effect of AMALGEROL ESSENCE in this stress situation. He has been a user of the biostimulant in recent years in order to increase the quantity and quality of his yields, but for the first time applied the product in such an extreme situation and was once again convinced of the unique composition and action of AMALGEROL ESSENCE.
