AMALGEROL ESSENCE - high and quality yields in wheat

AMALGEROL ESSENCE is an established standard in the segment of biostimulants and soil improvers in Bulgaria and has no equivalent in terms of composition and mode of action.
In 2020, the team of the commercial representative office of the manufacturing company demonstrated the application and benefits of the product through a conducted trial at the Institute of Plant and Genetic Resources in Sadovo. The trial covers three crops – wheat, sunflower and maize, and shows the effect of the application of the biostimulant.
The wheat was sown within the optimal sowing period for the region of Southern Bulgaria. The plants emerged and reached the tillering stage before the onset of the winter period and overwintered successfully without damage. To determine the effect of AMALGEROL ESSENCE and its advantage over the standard wheat cultivation technology, 10 variants were established. The first application of the biostimulant was in March at the end of tillering and the beginning of stem elongation, in combination with a herbicide. The next application was at the end of flowering and the beginning of grain filling. Harvesting was carried out at the optimal time for the region.
The highest yield result of 910 kg/da was achieved with the variant including a double reduction of the fertiliser rate (30 kg/da ammonium nitrate) and two applications of AMALGEROL ESSENCE at a rate of 200 ml/da. This result is compared with two controls: conventional technology (30 kg/da ammonium nitrate with application of herbicide and fungicide) with a yield of 456 kg/da, and intensive technology (60 kg/da ammonium nitrate with application of herbicide and fungicide) with a yield of 620 kg/da. The increase compared to the first control with a yield of 456 kg/da amounts to 99.5%.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Stanislav Stamatov, who conducted the practical trial for the second consecutive year, shares an astonishing result from the application of the product, which is visible at the 48th hour after treatment: “The manifestation of the product is very rapid. The effect is expressed in a better habitus of the plants, more intense green colour and visibly larger leaves.”

The increase in yield is explained by Assoc. Prof. Dr Stanislav Stamatov with the better phytosanitary status of the stand, the longer preservation of the flag leaf and the improved nutrition of the plants. Another key factor is the possibility to save nitrate nitrogen in the range of 20% to 30%, which has not only economic, but also environmental and health benefits. When AMALGEROL ESSENCE is applied, the flag leaf is preserved for the maximum possible period. In the control with a yield of 620 kg/da, based on the intensive wheat cultivation technology, lodging of the wheat is observed, whereas in the variant with a yield of 910 kg/da with two applications of AMALGEROL ESSENCE, wheat lodging is not observed.

Professor Dr Tanko Kolev from the Department of Crop Production at the Agricultural University of Plovdiv shares his opinion after the application of AMALGEROL ESSENCE in durum wheat: “A few years ago, I tested the product AMALGEROL ESSENCE on several varieties of durum wheat and obtained very good results compared to the conventional technology, with only AMALGEROL ESSENCE being added. The yield increased by 15–20%.” Regarding the increase in gluten content in durum wheat, the professor gave the following eloquent definition: “ascent and progress”.

The biostimulant AMALGEROL ESSENCE activates and stimulates the root system of plants through plant hormones and organic carbon, which are part of the seven elements in the product composition. The example from the region of the town of Vidin proves the effect of the biostimulant after a single application at a rate of 200 ml/da in wheat. In the treated plant, a denser root system is observed, which provides better access to nutrients (N) and water, even when they are located further away and are less mobile (P, K).
Recommended application rates of AMALGEROL ESSENCE in cereal crops: applied at a rate of 200 ml/da. Number of sprayings 2–4: at tillering (BBCH 20–30); at flag leaf stage (BBCH 37); at the beginning of flowering (BBCH 61); onto the straw to stimulate its decomposition, followed by shallow ploughing/cultivation. The effect on treated straw is visible three weeks after spraying the residues.
