De minimis has a total of BGN 5 million available – fruits and vegetables receive equal amounts of BGN 2.2 million and BGN 600,000 for potatoes. The funds under the scheme must be paid out by December 19, 2014.

On Friday, December 12, the deadline for submitting documents for de minimis minimum aid for producers of fruits, vegetables, and potatoes expires.

According to the specified requirements for the aid, only producers cultivating a minimum of 5 decares of the respective crop can apply. Those who have vegetables in greenhouse conditions receive aid if their greenhouse is at least 1 decare.

The State Agriculture Fund hopes that the allocated BGN 5 million will cover production costs for crops severely affected by the European sanctions against Russia and last year's floods. The money will also be used to purchase fertilizers, plant protection products, and irrigation water.

Producers of apples, peaches, apricots, cherries, plums, sour cherries, pears, strawberries, raspberries, dessert grapes, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, carrots, watermelons, melons, mature onions, headed cabbage, and potatoes can benefit from the scheme.

Applicants must be registered as agricultural producers for 2014, and the crops they cultivate must be located on the area designated for support under the scheme.
