Compensation for damaged areas

As of 2 November 2020, applications will be accepted under the State aid Scheme for compensating the losses of farmers resulting from natural disasters or adverse climatic conditions that occurred in 2020. Documents shall be submitted to the regional directorates of the State Fund „Agriculture“ by 18 November 2020. The funds will be paid by 18 December. The approved financial resource under the scheme is BGN 4.7 million.

Support shall be granted to farmers who possess statements of findings for 100% destroyed areas with agricultural crops as a result of drought, frost, freezing, hail and other climatic events.

The state aid will compensate up to 80% of the production costs for growing fodder and industrial crops, fruits, vegetables and essential-oil crops during the past agricultural year. The compensation for cereal and grain legume crops is up to 20%. Farmers who have not insured their areas will be entitled to 50% of the aid due for the respective crop.
