During the past seven-day period, the agrometeorological conditions were determined by dynamic weather, combined with meteorological phenomena unfavorable for agricultural crops. The recorded hailstorms and hot dry winds caused damage of varying degrees, such as injury and wilting, to the crops and perennial plantations. As a result of the precipitation at the end of the period, soil moisture reserves improved in Northwestern Bulgaria and in some areas of Central Northern Bulgaria.

At the end of May, the vegetation processes in agricultural crops will take place at temperatures close to the norm, and in some valley fields below the monthly norm. The forecast frequent, locally occurring showers during the second half of the period will improve soil moisture in many parts of the country and will provide the water currently needed by the plants. During the period, wheat will be in the flowering, grain formation and milk ripeness stages. During grain formation, cereal crops have increased water demand. In maize and sunflower, the leaf formation process will continue. In fruit species, fruit and fruit set enlargement will occur, and in early cherries, mass ripening of the fruits. In the vine, inflorescence separation and flowering will take place. In rapeseed stands, the end of flowering and the beginning of ripening will be observed.

The risk of hailstorms remains, but the probability of damage to agricultural crops is low due to the forecast low intensity of the phenomenon. Conditions for conducting plant protection spraying and agrotechnical activities will be created during the first half of the period.
