Freezing in fruit trees? Take immediate action!

Frost leaves visible traces on many fruit trees and vines during this period. Late frosts can often be forecast in many regions. Experience from previous years has taught us that the critical situation may continue until mid-May.

Frost destroys the pistils of the flower buds (see the picture of a longitudinal section of flower buds) and impedes pollination and fruit set. This will lead to major yield losses. To avoid this situation, it is necessary to take immediate action:

Prevention:

Foliar application at a rate of 200–250 ml/da of Amalgerol Essence 3–7 days before the forecast frost;

Support for surviving buds and plants after the occurrence of frost:

Foliar spraying or drip irrigation at a rate of 200–250 ml/da of Amalgerol Essence  immediately after the frost. Repeat after 8–10 days.

Amalgerol Essence is compatible with pesticides and foliar fertilizers.

Amalgerol  Essence will transfer antioxidants into the plant, thereby strengthening its self-defense mechanism. In addition, the product stimulates the nutritional metabolism of plants for faster regeneration.

Example trial in apple orchards:

Amalgerol  Essence was applied 7 days before the night with severe frost.

Untreated: 70% of the flower buds are destroyed.

Treated with Amalgerol Essence: Only 35% of the flower buds are destroyed. 65% of all flower buds survive.

(The trial was carried out on small plots with 4 replications.)
