Increased budget for winter spraying

The budget under the scheme “Aid for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for Pest Control in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period“, implemented in 2019, was increased from BGN 5,500,000 to BGN 5,571,021. The payment was carried out within 10 working days, earlier than the set deadline of 10 December.

The State Fund „Agriculture“ transferred over BGN 1.45 million (BGN 1,456,276) under the scheme “Aid for compensating the costs of farmers related to the implementation of measures under the National Programme for Pest Control in Permanent Crops during the Winter Period“, implemented in 2019. Subsidies were received by 2,705 producers who cultivate permanent crops. The payment was carried out within 10 working days, earlier than the set deadline of 10 December.

The aid is provided in two stages. The first is in spring. It covers the period from the end of the frosts until the swelling of the fruit buds. Under this stage, farmers receive up to BGN 270 per hectare including VAT for plant protection products against pests purchased with supporting accounting documents. The funds provided for the second stage are intended to cover part of the costs of fruit and vegetable growers incurred for plant protection products used in autumn, during the period of mass leaf fall and leaf decay. In this case, the financial support amounts to up to BGN 100 per hectare including VAT.

By decision of the Management Board of the State Fund Agriculture, the budget under the scheme has been increased from BGN 5,500,000 to BGN 5,571,021. For the spring treatments, farmers absorbed over BGN 4.112 million.
