At the initiative of the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) and the farmer Nikola Chavdarov, on 17 June in the courtyard of the Institute of Plant Genetic Resources in the town of Sadovo, a demonstration will be held on the topic "Effect of group application of different water-soluble fertilizers in fertigation of vegetables". The demonstration is organized under the NEFERTITI project, funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme, within the Bulgaria hub of Network No. 7 „Improved nutrient use efficiency in horticulture“.

At the demonstration, which will take place in Sadovo on 17 June, the participants will be acquainted with the effect of the group application of water-soluble fertilizers in vegetable fertilization through a drip irrigation system.

During the meeting, different models for vegetable nutrition – forms and methods of application – will also be discussed.

The main topics of the demonstration will be:

- Use of water-soluble fertilizers of different commercial companies in the cultivation

of pepper;

- New technological solutions in fertilization and cultivation of curly lettuce;

- New technological solutions in fertilization and cultivation of melons.

The demonstration is open to all who wish to attend – farmers, researchers, consultants, students, non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders in the field of agriculture.

The event is organized under the NEFERTITI project, funded by the Horizon 2020 Programme, within the Bulgaria hub of Network No. 7 „Improved nutrient use efficiency in horticulture“.

NEFERTITI Project

The project „Networking European Farms to Enhance Cross Fertilisation and Innovation Uptake through Demonstration (NEFERTITI)“ is a network (approved for funding under the Horizon 2020 Programme), comprising 32 partners and coordinated by the Agricultural Technical Institute (Association de Coordination Technique Agricole (ACTA) - France). The duration of the project is 4 years and will end on 31 December 2022. The main objective of the project is to create a closely connected network of demonstration and pilot farms aimed at improving the exchange of knowledge and mutual learning among participants in the demonstration events, as well as the effective implementation of innovations in the agricultural sector through mutual demonstrations of techniques organized by themes. Under the project, 10 interactive thematic networks have been established, bringing together 45 regional hubs (centres) including farmers organizing demonstrations and institutions related to agriculture (advisors, non-governmental organizations, industry, education, research institutes and policymakers) in 17 countries.

The networks in the field of crop production are:

„Soil quality in arable (crop rotation) crops“;

„Use of applications for management of multifunctional sensors and measurement of different variables in the cultivation of arable (crop rotation) crops“;

„Increasing productivity and quality in organic cultivation of arable (crop rotation) crops“;

„Improving nutrient use efficiency in

horticulture (NAAS leads and coordinates the activities under this network, including the establishment of a hub in Bulgaria);

„Efficient use of water in horticulture“;

„Reducing the use of pesticides in the production of grapes, fruit and vegetables“ (NAAS leads and coordinates the activities on establishing the hub for this network in Bulgaria);

„Enhancing the attractiveness of agriculture for newly entering

farmers“.
