Modern Education in Crop Production and Plant Protection in Plovdiv

The new training centre for practical education in crop production and plant protection at the Agricultural University was officially opened on 12 April in Plovdiv.

The Minister of Education and Science Krasimir Valchev, together with the Rector of the Agricultural University Prof. Hristina Yancheva, officially opened yesterday the new training centre for practical education in crop production and plant protection. The modern building is located on the territory of the university and has been constructed under the Operational Programme “Regions in Growth”. The building has equipped specialized rooms for practical training in botany, chemistry, phytopathology, entomology, plant protection, crop production, storage facilities, preparatory rooms, a lecturers’ room, lecture halls and interactive rooms for educational presentations and seminars, for entrepreneurship and innovation, and for the application of IT technologies in plant protection.

The value of the project is nearly 3.5 million leva, which also includes the new equipment of the two-storey building, which has eight large classrooms and laboratories. Nearly 600 students from the Agricultural University will be trained there.
