The adult is a butterfly, usually white, slightly shiny, with a dark brown stripe along the edge of the wings. The caterpillars are light green and are characterized by black patterns with white spots and hairs. Their head is shiny black. The caterpillars cause damage. They feed on boxwood leaves initially at the edges, and later destroy them completely. Initially, the damage is noticed as spots on the leaves.
