Summit Agro: Boldly moving forward towards the important things!

The company team officially presented its updated product list for vine protection and nutrition. The seminar, held at the representative Plovdiv hotel “Imperial”, was attended by vine growers from all over the country

It can be confidently stated that the plant protection products, biostimulants and foliar fertilizers in vineyards under the Summit Agro brand possess a distinctive individuality, identity and competitive advantages. The company works in Bulgaria with more than 40 suppliers. How should this fact be interpreted? Summit Agro is in a position to offer any product, regardless of who manufactures it. This is a special, invaluable type of flexibility that allows every problem to be solved quickly and successfully, irrespective of its specificity and complexity.

One of the sensitive topics in viticulture is weed control. Summit Agro offers many herbicides. Some of them have no equivalent. A highly valuable product, for example, is Pledge 50 WP (flumioxazin), an original product of the Japanese company Sumitomo Chemical. Pledge is a selective contact herbicide with soil and foliar action against broadleaf and some grass weeds.

The acaricides in Summit Agro’s commercial portfolio deserve the special attention of vine growers. Nissorun (hexythiazox) and Sanmite (pyridaben) – with toxic action against all stages of mites, are well known in domestic viticulture. At present, the new insecto-acaricides Bermektin, a merciless destroyer of both adult forms of mites and vine scale insects, are being deployed in “firing position”. Belproil A (83% paraffin oil) can also be used in organic production. Summit Agro offers four different active bases with different modes of action, an excellent tool against resistance, because, as is well known, mites are a particular type of pest whose reflex to develop resistance to control agents is proverbially fast!

The vine is attacked by many pests. Summit Agro’s arsenal in this segment is based on very powerful “weapons” – Oasis, Sumi Alpha, Mospilan, Chrysant.

Summit Agro is generating new dynamics and high levels of success in protecting vines from the most dangerous diseases – downy mildew, powdery mildew, downy mildew, grey mould. Summit Agro’s conceptual strategy for controlling downy mildew includes several key visions. One: responding to the need to combine two active substances to achieve more decisive results; another: the inclusion of active substances with fully systemic action. A third: a fast track for innovations (the active component zoxamide). And more. The leading fungicidal products Vitene Triplo R, Lieto, Metomorph F and Phosbel are WG formulations, yet another means of increasing the effectiveness of the products. The presence of so many active ingredients and their combination in one or another fungicide is a clear sign of both synergy and a sustainable mechanism against the emergence of resistance.

Powdery mildew (oidium) is the next area where Summit Agro demonstrates competitive advantages. Miclofil (myclobutanil) is Summit Agro’s newest fungicide for the control of powdery mildew and black rot. Beltanol (8-hydroxyquinoline) is the next generation fungicide for simultaneous control of fungal and bacterial diseases, incl. control of the “esca” disease.

Summit Agro does not stop experimenting and moving forward. Two years ago, the implementation of anti-stress products from the Seipro line, produced by the Spanish company Futureco, part of Summit Agro Europe, began. Kaishi is a product with a high content of 12 free amino acids of plant origin. Shigeki builds upon Kaishi. A combined NPK fertilizer with micronutrients important for plant development. The main advantage of Shigeki is the content of seaweed extract, which includes vitamins, phytohormones and free amino acids.

This year Summit Agro has positioned two new products on the Bulgarian market – Kinactiv Initial and Kinactiv Fruit. Kinactiv Initial contains an optimal ratio of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. The content of molybdenum is high, which stimulates the processes related to flowering and pollen quality. The composition includes seaweed extract, naturally rich in phytohormones, organic acids, amino acids and polysaccharides. The product improves the elasticity and resistance of the young epidermal tissues of the fruits. Kinactiv Fruit contains the macroelements nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, free amino acids, molybdenum and other microelements – boron, copper, iron, manganese, zinc. It significantly increases the sugar content (respectively the Brix degrees). It improves the organoleptic characteristics of the fruits – taste, colour, increases the firmness and storability of the fruits.

Summit Agro’s portfolio in vineyards is a super-intensive format with the capacity to provide a sanitary barrier, a reliable shield for sustainable grape production in an uncertain climatic and phytosanitary environment.
