State compensation for natural disasters in 2019

Farmers to be compensated with BGN 2.1 million for natural disasters in 2019

The Management Board of the State Fund „Agriculture“ - PA approved a financial resource of BGN 2.144 million under the state aid scheme „Aid for compensating damages to agricultural crops caused by adverse climatic conditions that can be assimilated to natural disasters“. The allocated funds are distributed for damages incurred in 2019, at the following intensity of production costs by crops:

- Cereal, grain-legume crops and sunflower - up to 30%;

- Fodder crops - up to 80%;

- Fruit, vegetables, essential oil-bearing and industrial crops - up to 80%;

Eligible for support are agricultural producers who hold ascertainment protocols for 100% failed areas in 2019 with agricultural crops as a result of adverse climatic conditions. Guidelines for the provision of the aid are to be prepared.
